Tian Yuan Kui Hotel

Good location in the middle of the main shopping street.
Good rooms with TV, shower and comfortable beds but can be noisy if you get one on the street side - wear your earplugs! Had booked in advance but was told when arriving that no room was available but only a more expensive one. Put our foot down and something was sorted out.
Free pick up from train station if you let them know.
Able to book hard to get Pingyao to Xi'an train tickets but you may need to ask several times, we were told no a few times and then when asking later in the day were told yes.
Pingyao residents are a bit strange so expect a few things to seem a little weird!
Restaurant is very good. Dumplings are excellent and the pork and green beans are great if you're missing your green veggies in China!
