Shanghai Maggie International Youth Hostel

A little far out of the centre but the cheapest we could find at 80 Yuan a night each in a double room. Shanghai is very expensive! It's a 10 minute walk to the Metro and there is a bus direct from the airport. There are also buses direct to the Railway Station and the Bund.

It's in an old age home! Means it's fairly quiet at least. Doesn't have much of an atmosphere but the rooms are squeeky clean with shower. There is internet and a washing machine available for a charge. There is a kitchen and room to sit and watch TV.

Maggie runs the place and speaks perfect English and can organise everything you need. Very helpful.
