Had good value clean big double room with fan, cable TV and bathroom for US$15.
Palenque is very hot and the fan didn´t have a chance to cool us down. Room was also next to a church which was very loud on Sunday evening but wouldn´t be a problem any other evening and you´ll probably be out for dinner anyway - just don´t plan to have a sleep between 5 and 10pm!
Good room though for the price.

Another option is to stay near the ruins. There are a lot of places on the road to the ruins set in the jungle and can be quite atmospheric. We were only here for one night so just stayed in town.
