Stayed one night at the Weary Travellers sister hostel, Ranchita Tranquila.
Chilled out place with classical music playing.
Had basic cabaña with mosquito net and fan for US$20. Shared bathroom.
Breakfast was included which had made your own pancakes, eggs, cereals and toast.
You can buy a "burn your own" barbeque meal at Weary Traveller which has cook your own burgers, chicken etc. with salad stuff for a reasonable price.

If you had more time, it would be better to stay on the beach. The beach accommodation starts about 600m south of the ruins. There´s a great beach and a large choice of accommodation.
