Chile, Santiago
Had a real problem finding somewhere to stay in Santiago.
We hadn't prebooked but called at least 15 places from the bus station andbut no-one seemed to have double rooms or they were very expensive.
Eventually got through to Residencial Mery in Barrio Brasil who said they had a room. We lugged our huge pile of stuff (it was getting to the end of our trip so we had lots extra) to be told they didn't actually have a room. Thanks a lot!
We then landed up staying at the City Hotel which was very central but a lot for what you get. Had oldish but clean double room with local TV and poor breakfast. It was cheaper to pay in US$ than local pesos as you don't pay a 15% tax. We payed US$49 for the room per night.

The first thing you need to know before buying reservation software is that of usage. That is, you need to make up your mind whether you want to use the same for in house purpose or as an online platform whereby you can perform online bookings. The good thing is that there're reservation software suites available at very affordable prices.
