Here's where we've stayed on our trip. Details may have change since we left so don't take our word for it.
Stayed for 1 night at friendly Hospedaje Aguas Caliente on the right up the hill towards the hot springs. Had small but very clean double room with new hot water bathroom for 30 soles. Unfortunately there didn't seem to be any hot water (despite the name) at 5am when we needed it before taking the bus to Machu Picchu.
