Stayed for 2 nights at Hostal Inti Wasi.
Arrived at the airport and spoke to the hotel booking desk to see if there were any deals. They offered to show us a few places. We went to Hostal Inti Wasi, right next to the Plaza del Armas. The airport hotel agency negotiated a rate of $25 a night, the normal rate is $40. Had a great room with hot water bathroom, cable TV and breakfast. Perfect for relaxing in as we weren't feeling well and the altitude didn't help.

We wanted to spend a little less so then moved to El Mirador de la Ñusta right above Plaza San Blas. First room we saw was quite dark so asked to see another. Took a big very bright double room with extra bed with hot water bathroom for 55 soles ($16). Very friendly staff. We organised to leave our big packs here when we went to Maccu Picchu for a night and was able to get the same room back on our return.
